How EU Clothing Sizes Work
EU clothing sizes are based on body measurements in centimeters. Women's sizes start at 32 (XS) and increase in increments of 2. The general formula: (EU - 32) / 2 = approximate US number size. For example, EU 38 roughly equals US 6.
EU sizing is more consistent across countries than US sizing, but brands may still vary. Italian sizes typically run 4 numbers higher than standard EU (e.g., Italian 42 = EU 38). French sizes are similar to EU but may differ by 2.
For men, EU sizes are based on chest measurements. EU 48 corresponds to a US Medium, EU 50 to a US Large. Men's UK and US sizes are generally the same for most clothing items.
